What a shame Hoekstra spent his entire interview discussing the auto industry, national politics, and bringing manufacturing jobs back to Muskegon, none of which have any relevance to Muskegon’s current economic crisis.

While manufacturing is important, Muskegon’s success depends on service- and tourist-industry jobs. With Muskegon’s waterfront, the city could be one of the top tourist destinations in the country.

Blind to Muskegon's great potential, Hoekstra throws out political nonsense like, “rich heritage,” “God’s country,” “tool and dye guys,” and the “resurrection” of manufacturing.

Come on, Muskegon. We’re not stupid enough to keep buying this, are we?
